Prostate Gland Overview: Anatomically, the prostate gland in males is situated below the bladder and surrounds the urethra through which urine passes. The prostate gland is responsible for secreting seminal fluid and therefore, proper functioning of the gland is important to sexual activity and capability in males.

As a man ages, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) can cause the prostate to enlarge and cause urinary and sexual function difficulties. An enlarged prostate can cause problems, such as obstructing the urethral canal, it becomes difficult to urinate and the ability to empty the bladder is impaired. This could put pressure on the kidneys and bladder.

Prostate supplements can slow or halt the progress of BPH or inflammation known as Prostatitis. Prostate cancer is also a concern and by age 40 a men should begin having PSA testing to detect any signs of prostate cancer early providing easy treatment and cure.

Watching cholesterol levels is also advisable, because cholesterol can accumulate in an unhealthy prostate.

Recent scientific research has shown how to remedy the underlying problems associated with disorders of BPH -- safely and effectively with a good, effective prostate supplement. These results have been published in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and the American Journal of Gerontology. They reveal that several vitamins, minerals and natural herbs can dramatically shrink the prostate and improve urinary performance in older men. The most modern

FAQ’s about ProstateSelect

When would I need to use ProstateSelect?
ProstateSelect is indicated for men with symptoms of prostate enlargement or prostatitis as a result of an infection.

How do I know if I have a prostate problem?
If the prostate becomes enlarged or inflamed you will have one or more of the following symptoms:
·         Pain between the scrotum and rectum
·         Frequent urination especially at night
·         Feeling of fullness in the bladder
·         Bladder does not empty completely
·         Recurring bladder infections
·         Difficulty starting and stopping urination
·         There may be associated fever

What problems affect the prostate?
For men under the age of 50 years, prostatitis is the most common condition. Prostatitis occurs when the prostate becomes inflamed or irritated. Some kinds of prostatitis may be caused by bacteria. Other causes could be kidney stones or cancer.
Men over the age of 50 years are usually affected by benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH). This is characterized by a slow but steady enlargement of the prostate gland that squeezes the urethra and affects the flow of urine from the bladder.

If I have BPH will I develop prostate cancer?
Most men that suffer from BPH will not develop prostate cancer. However it is important to see your doctor if you have any of the above mentioned symptoms as these are the same for both BPH and prostate cancer.
One complication of BPH is the increased risk of urinary tract infections and even kidney damage.

Why do I need to be aware of prostate problems?
Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of death among men.
The prostate is a walnut-sized gland at the base of the bladder and it produces prostatic fluid which makes up the bulk of the male ejaculate and nourishes and transports sperm.

How does my doctor determine which prostate condition I have?
Your doctor needs to determine the degree of inflammation either by a digital rectal exam or by ultrasound. Depending on the degree of inflammation the doctor will send for blood tests to look for prostate-specific antigen (PSA). High PSA levels are usually and indicator of prostate cancer. A doctor may also measure the flow of urine – a reduced flow may mean you have BPH.

Can prostate conditions be reversed?
Prostatitis can be treated by treating the cause of inflammation.
BPH can be supported by using ProstateSelect. Depending on the degree of inflammation, certain surgical procedures are used to remove parts of the prostate.
The prostate will be completely removed if you have prostate cancer to prevent the cancer from spreading.

What is ProstateSelect?
ProstateSelect provides a high quality extract of Saw palmetto (95% fatty acids) combined with Lycopene and the vital nutrients vitamin E, zinc and selenium. Biosorb is added to enhance the absorption of the ingredients.

How does Saw palmetto extract work?
Saw palmetto is used mainly by men to relieve the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Results from a small study of men who suffered from long-term inflammation of the prostate showed improvement in some markers of inflammation after 3 months of treatment with saw palmetto.

What do I need to be careful of when using ProstateSelect?

If you are taking blood thinning medication like warfarin, avoid using ProstateSelect.
